Arkansas Festivals & Events Association Announces 2018 Award Winners

The winners of the ALFiE Awards for 2018, given by the Arkansas Festivals & Events Association, were announced at the Association’s 35th Annual Conference & Trade Show held in Hot Springs on January 30 & 31.   The ALFiE Awards, “Arkansans Love Festivals & Events,” honor the best and brightest of Arkansas’s festivals and special events.  The winners and categories are listed below.

Best New Festival or Event

Eligible events are those still within their first five years; judging is based on the operation’s growth, uniqueness, and community contribution. 

Gold- Diacon Alley, Fayetteville

Silver- I Got Flocked, El Dorado

Bronze- First Friday Monthly Market, Camden

Outstanding New Idea

Eligible festivals have developed a new idea, logo, event, festival, or publication during the previous year which added significantly to the success or popularity of the festival. 

Gold- ACANSA Arts Festival

SilverToad Suck Daze

Bronze- Ink in the Ozarks

Vendor of the Year

Vendors of the Year are examples of exemplary and reliable services provided by industry businesses that contribute to the overall success of an event.

Gold- WestArk Concert Services

Silver- Legendary Pacers Band

Bronze-Wells Fun Company

Festival of the Year, Gold–Main Street Food Truck Festival, Little Rock

This award is presented to a festival or other special celebration, which stands out among all the festivals in Arkansas, by its creative approach, crowd appeal, media coverage, and/or enhancement of community pride, thus benefiting the state’s quality of life.

Silver- Siloam Springs Dogwood Festival

Bronze- Beatles at the Ridge, Walnut Ridge

Sporting Event of the Year, Gold- Murphy USA El Dorado Shootout

A festival or event featuring or centered around a sporting event that brings recognition to the sport and enhances community pride.

Silver- Arkansas Marathon, Booneville

Bronze-Rumble on the River, Camden

Promotional ALFiE Awards were also awarded to top quality examples of festival and event promotional and marketing materials.  Awards were presented in eight categories to the following winners:
