Help transform Fort Smith’s National Cemetery as wreaths are placed on headstones to honor soldiers who have made the ultimate sacrifice.
Each December, thousands of community volunteers from all over the region come together to transform the Fort Smith National Cemetery by placing one wreath on each of the thousands of headstones in honor of every man and woman’s service to our country.

Christmas Honors Event – Laying of the Wreaths
Fort Smith National Cemetery
Family Time: 8 a.m.-10:30 a.m. | Please respect this time to allow the families of our heroes to lay wreaths on their loved one’s headstone(s).
*Please DO NOT place ANY wreaths on headstones other than your families until AFTER the 11 AM ceremony. Thank you!*
Public Ceremony: 11:00 a.m. | Following the ceremony, attendees will get the opportunity to lay wreaths on all remaining headstones.
Tuesday, January 8th, 2019:

We ask that you reserve parking inside the cemetery for the handicapped and elderly guests. If you are able, we encourage you to park off site and walk to the cemetery.
Parking will be available at: West parking lot off Wheeler Avenue. Curbside parking along streets where permitted.
